All of know that motivation is of dire importance. No one can keep on working without any motivation of goal. When someone motivates us or gives us a target to achieve, our willingness to do it increases more. As an employer understanding the need of motivation is quite essential as it gives us the power of ensuring that our employees to their best at any given task. It doesn't matter how challenging or simple a task might seem, if it needs to be done it needs to be done. It is essential to motivate your employees so that they put in their hundred percent in every task. But how do you figure out what motivates which employee? You certainly can't spend hours establishing good relations with every individual that makes up your company, but at the same time it is important to know your employees a little; especially what motivates them to work.

DISC profile test is the ideal tool for you. It assesses all your employees and gives you insights on their personality type. It tells you about their behavioral tendencies which allows you to assess how an individual is most likely to react when put in different situations. This gives you the power to assign the right man for the right situation. It allows you to understand their strengths and weaknesses and make the most of them. There are some for whom extrinsic motivation is ideal. Extrinsic motivation refers to things like extra pay, promotions, etc. It caters to the needs related to power and fame and financial betterment. Though everyone requires a little motivation in monetary terms, that isn't enough. After a certain point of time an individual wants to see his own self develop and become better.

People often underestimate the importance of intrinsic motivation. What makes intrinsic motivation so important though? To begin with, every individual has a need to see himself or herself develop. What good is earning a lot of money when you can't talk properly to a client? Be it developing communication skills or any other skills in that matter, everyone feels proud when they observe their weaknesses being converted into strengths. It is important to maintain a fair balance between extrinsic and intrinsic motivating factors as both of them play a huge role in the development and success of an individual.

So keep on motivating your employees and you will definitely observe an increase in their work productivity. Not only will they become more efficient, you will observe an increase in their effectiveness as well. Feedback is essential if you want to see them truly grow. So keep on giving them the necessary feedback and don't forget to ask for feedback as well. Their feedback can give you a lot of insight and help you improve as a manager or an employer.
